Today I want to tell you about a very special meeting. I was with my foreign client, returned to Bologna to sign the deed, in his new home, located on the hills about 40 minutes’ from Bologna.
Upon our arrival, after a long dirt road, we were greeted by the neighbor’s two affectionate dogs, guardians of his farm, and we decided to knock on his door to introduce ourselves.
It was lunchtime and we were afraid of disturbing, but the meeting turned out to be extremely pleasant. In fact we were invited to join with a table of happy and welcoming people, intrigued by the presence of a stranger, and eager to welcome him and have him taste their products (fine cheese, meat, bread and wine).
Speaking different languages wasn’t a problem at all: using a mix of Bolognese dialect, English and Spanish and thanks to the unique Italian gestures, we spent an hour of genuine sharing.
The Italian hospitality and food got a bull’s eye!
