Old Brick Country House

Full restoration of an old brick house in collaboration with Studio Righi Engineering Firm of Casalecchio di Reno – 2014

  • Sand blasting and cleaning of the brick facades and wooden floors

Location: Ozzano Emilia (BO)
Position: on the hills just a few minutes from the city of Bologna
Type: brick house dating back to the early 1900s
Composition: originally farmhouse with attached barn

Philosophy of the intervention: a seismic adaptation of the entire building with structural interventions to improve the seismic characteristics was made. Works involved the construction of new foundations and main interior changes with a new redistribution of the spaces. The restoration and conservative renewal allowed to breathe life into this house that in spite of the modern look due to external render, deeply retains traces of its past
