Full interior and external preservative renovation of an Italian client’s country house.
Restoration works included:
- Sandblasting and cleaning of original local sandstone on external and internal walls
- Demolition and rebuilding of a wooden roof by recovering original roof tiles
- Rebuilding of floors reusing some pre-existing beams,
- Insertion of modern structural iron beams
- Bringing back to use a pre-existing fireplace in bricks and old external brick oven
- Preservation of interior and exterior original window frames
- Restoration of old Italian furniture
- Creation of personalized iron and wooden stair cases
- Design and realization of new customized furniture, according to the owners’ requirements

Composition: it originally consisted of a ruined stone house, a stable and a barn, with outdoor brick oven
Philosophy of restoration works: the restorative measures and conservative architectural renovation allowed to transform the original building into a dreamhouse. It retains traces of its past; stonewalls, original wood floors and oakbeams witness the deep bond with its history. Great attention was given to the recovery of existing materials which, along with new structural elements such as visible iron beams, create a perfect union between past and present.
